U2: No Line On The Horizon

by IrishGirl on March 5, 2009

Probably Dublin, Ireland’s claim to musical fame in the modern era, U2 released this week their newest album, “No Line On The Horizon”.   This is their 12th studio album since they formed in 1978.  Bono, Edge, Adam, and Larry were just teenagers when they came together and quickly found a sound that was more about their passion and energy than their musicianship.  They originally called themselves Feedback and then The Hype before deciding on U2.  Since their first single and album release in 1980, they have increased their popularity based on their incredible sound and overwhelming love for this world and those who are hurting across the globe.  When Bono joined forces with Bobby Shriver to form RED, he launched himself and U2 into work and mission that has further defined their altruistic identity.  RED and the Buy (RED) Saves Lives campaign focus on providing a sustainable flow of private sector money to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria.

U2 is 100% Irish and worthy of mention here at Find Irish Stuff.  Check out their lastest work “No Line On The Horizon” from Amazon.  You can get the CD for $9.99 or the Limited Edition CD/Poster/Book/DVD for $64.99.  U2 doesn’t disappoint no matter what your musical tastes.  For more on U2, their music, and their mission in the world, visit www.u2.com.
